SRF sets up new BOPP line in Thailand
Gurugram-based SRF, a diversified chemicals conglomerate, has set up a new five-layer BOPP line with the latest technology from Bruckner Germany in the Rayong Province of Kingdom of Thailand. It is one of the biggest five-layer extrusion line in the world with line speed of 600-m/min and 8.3 MT/hr output with yearly production capacity of 60,000 MT of finished goods. This line is equipped with latest stretching technology chain, MDO, scanner, loader and unloader trolley and provisioned for installation of inline coater.

It is also equipped with two latest technology cranes with provision of automatic jumbo rotation line and is well-supported with latest technology, fully-loaded two primary slitter, a secondary slitter and a pan cake slitter. The packing of finished goods will be done with latest technology automatic packing conveyors, automatic cranes and packing machines.
With a turnover of Rs 8,295-crore, SRF is a diversified chemicals conglomerate engaged in the manufacturing of industrial and specialty intermediates. The company’s business portfolio covers specialty chemicals, fluorochemicals, packaging films, technical textiles, coated and laminated fabrics.

SRF, the erstwhile Shri Ram Fibres, was established in 1970 as a manufacturer of Nylon Tyre Cord Fabric, becoming one of the first companies in India to do so. Today, SRF has grown from being a single unit tyre cord manufacturer into a leading, professionally managed, diversified chemicals company. The company is a market leader in most of its business segments in India and commands a significant global presence in some of its businesses/products, namely, difluoro and trifluoro alkyl intermediates (global no 1), nylon 6 tyre cord (global no 2) and belting fabrics (global no 3).
SRF is the only Indian manufacturer of ozone-friendly refrigerants, namely F 134a and F 32, both of which it has developed using indigenous technology. With the addition of F 125, SRF is now the largest producer and seller of refrigerants in India and has further consolidated its market leadership. SRF is one amongst the very few fully backward-integrated players in this space.
A winner of the prestigious Deming Prize for two of its businesses, tyre cord in 2004 and chemicals in 2012, SRF continues to define its work and corporate culture with TQM as its management way.
