Kalpesh Mehta, chief marketing officer of SRK Creative, said, “Our existing clients started demanding offset print, which we had to outsource. There were issues with the quality. Hence we decided to venture invest in an offset machine and bring the service in-house."
Mehta added, "The interesting point is, we are already running the press in full capacity."
The company has invested in a 5,000sq/ft unit in Bhayendar near Mumbai and houses Kodak CTP and allied machinery. The firm has also started its publication division.
Mehta said, “We started this unit with everything in-house. We did not want to outsource anything. This investment in offset has also given us an idea of starting our own publication. To begin with, we have started with printing and publishing children fun books like ‘baby scrap book’ which will have 28 parts. This will be sold through our 40 outlets in and around Mumbai. We have already got good response from the market and this is encouraging.”
