The Bobst Novafold has been outfitted with an advanced Baumer HHS glue gun, ensuring precision and efficiency in the production process.

Suvrat Luthra, founder, SS Corporate Print House, said, “Our production has been increasing. We are growing at a CAGR of 65%. Thus, we needed to strengthen our converting segment. We found that Bobst was an appropriate choice among all available options in the market. While the initial investment in the machinery may be on the higher side, the overall cost of ownership is reasonable when considering the long-term value and return on investment it provides. Bobst’s excellent team and its after-sales service were other reasons to invest in these machines.”

Bobst produces side-pasting cartons, lock-bottom cartons, different mono cartons and E-flute corrugated cartons in the folder-gluer.

“The die-cutting machine is a big investment. So, we opted for a pre-owned machine to test the water. After testing the die-cutter's performance, we plan to invest in a new die-cutting machine soon. Though we have strengthened our finishing unit, after the new die-cutting machine, it will be more strong,” he added.

Luthra said the company evaluated other options but couldn’t zero in on other brands because of their limitations. “Along with the Bobst equipment, we have also added a Tiancen KFM-106MCZ automatic lamination machine. These investments took place in the last couple of months,” he said.

SS Corporate Print House manufactures mono cartons and corrugated boxes for primary packaging. “Our focus is to produce quality jobs with decent margins. For the moment, we don’t want to go for the volume game,” Luthra said, adding, “We have an in-house ink kitchen and QC lab. We have also constructed a new office premises equipped with modern facilities.”

The company convert 150 tonnes of paper and board per month.

Luthra is a second generation of the family-owned business and an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology Varanasi (IIT-BHU) and Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS). He is among the few printers in the industry who hire professionals and allocate them work.

Looking ahead, greenfield expansion and a brand-new printing press are on his cards. “We may add a window-patching machine, rigid boxes manufacturing and corrugation in the future,” he said.
