“We were looking to invest in a gathering machine which would put our book producing capability on par with international standards. We found the 9 Panther would help us meet that requirement,” said KP Sabu, managing director of Five Star.

Started in 1991, to cater to the marketing and communication industry in Kochi epitomises a new profile of print companies in Kerala, after it invested in a new Komori Enthrone 426, a demy-size machine to do short-run jobs, as well as a Bobst’s Novacut 106E die-cutter and Visionfold 80 folder gluer, to enter the packaging realm.

“There’s plenty of short-run of print works coming in, which includes books and magazines, and also packaging,” said Sabu. “Panther’s highly efficient book-gathering machine, which also featuring low power consumption and a quick job setup, will help us produce more and save on costs.”

The 9 Panther is capable of gathering up to 4,200 books per hour, provides a standard error detection protocols including missing sheet and double sheet detection.

According to Planet G, the books are delivered by a vertical zig-zag stacker, and the sequential start and stop function ensures that full book blocks are always delivered in the stacker. The Panther also comes with a batch collating feature for notebook making with minimal stations, and colour touch screen interface.

Thiruvananthapuram-based, manufacturer Planet G, has aligned with Press Line India to promote its products in five major North India States – Haryana, UP, MP, Delhi and Punjab.
