According to Mark Huisman, sales manager at Stork Prints, “The label printing industry has been undergoing changes in recent years. Changes in decrease of run lengths and shorter delivery times are the significant challenges for the label printers. To address these challenges Stork has developed digital label printing technology.”

According to Stork, the latest-generation DSI digital label printer brings two crucial benefits to the label printing companies - label convertors can carry out increasingly complex print jobs more cost-effectively than with traditional methods, and secondly, they will be fully prepared to meet the changing market demands in the years to come.

Huisman said, “The performance statistics for the DSI is impressive. It includes an average break even at 4,000 linear meters compared to conventional UV flexo; 20-, 33- or 53-cm wide; 10 print positions possible; hexachrome; digital primer; stand-alone and in-line converting possibilities, are only a few points of the performance statistics."

He added, “The DSI digital label press is geared for the future. As a customer you can start with a CMYK configuration on a 20cm print width and upgrade later, with the same machine, to a 33 cm wide machine with 10 print positions. The digital primer gives the possibility and flexibility to print onto any substrate.”

According to Huisman, digital technology is devoid of plates, needs no set-up time, saves on wastage and assures perfect registration every time.

The DSI is the latest in a long line of inkjet printing systems from Stork Prints, one of the most experienced digital inkjet system manufacturers in the world. More than 4,000 of the company's proofing and printing systems are already in use across the globe.
