“Two major shows are coming up in China in the months of April and May and hence we thought many buyers would travel to those shows for live demos and decision making,” said Vaidy of Suba Solutions.

“We have an established product line and we are consolidating our leadership position in those areas. We have had fantastic response to automatic foil stampers, auto die cutters and folder gluers from Shanghai Eternal, which is a Bobst Group company. We have also crossed the 100 mark for the Meiguang flute laminators. Our Yii Lee automatic film lamination has also received very positive response with a few quick installations,” he added.

Asked if he felt that PrintPack’s Greater Noida debut will meet expectations of the exhibitors, he said, “We are not sure if PrintPack India will have as much an impact. We need to see the response in Greater Noida. Secondly, there are so many exhibitions these, and the event is almost in the last week of February - and in the fag-end of the financial year. This could also in a way impact the decision making process.”

“Drupa is for showcasing future technologies and those innovations are bound to be reality in the same form or in a modified version. Every step of revolution in technology may not be successful but it would be a definite progress for a greater invention,” he said while comparing PrintPack and Drupa.

Talking about best practices in India, Vaidy said, “Indian companies are aspiring to be world class organisations and accordingly setting up modern plants. And this very aspiration and action to be the very best in the world is impressive, motivating and inspirational.”
