Navi Mumbai’s SIES GST and PrintWeek India have jointly conceptualised a monthly programme titled ‘Masterclass’ for the SIES students with the help and support of members of Bombay Master Printers' Association.
“Besides imparting education, the aim of this programme is to inspire students and guide them with success stories from the industry,” said Sagar Shejwalkar, head of the department, printing and packaging technology, SIES GST.
Masterclass is an attempt to promote industry-institute interaction and alter the perception of the print industry as that of being an unattractive space, in the minds of students. The programme will include sessions by print entrepreneurs, technocrats and thought leaders of the industry.
The one-hour session will constitute a dialogue between Sawant and PrintWeek India’s editor Ramu Ramanathan, wherein Sawant will reveal his print story. In the later session Sawant will deliver a technical presentation on significance of printing plates for package-printing.
The programme will be attended by more than 150 students pursuing BE in printing and packaging technology from SIES GST.
