The 39 ft/minute, 1200x3600 dpi with 4-bit variable dot density press has an imaging width of 504 mm (19.8 inches) and can handle monthly duty cycles of up to five million pages. It can produce a range of applications such as brochures, posters, leaflets, catalogues, packaging and direct mail on a variety of substrates ranging from 40 gsm to 350 gsm.

Timir Naik, owner of Tasveer Digital Press, said, “The Xeikon 8500 press is a great addition to our production portfolio. We are using digital technology for the last six years. Its unique size in digital CMYK will allow us to cater to various market segments, including commercial printing, graphics, weddings, oversized photo albums, photo books and corporate marketing materials, including posters catalogues. We will continue to set ourselves – and our customers – apart.”

The Xeikon 8500 delivers a combination of productivity and quality benefits that include high productivity in one-pass-duplex web fed printing, professional image and data integrity, refined screening library, perfect colour consistency and professional colour management. Also, the QA-P Dry toner allows the use of substrates without specific pre-treatment; there are no VOC emissions and a wider colour gamut is possible.

Kanti Naik established Tasveer Kendra in 1948. As the first lab owner to be a photographer and videographer, Naik launched lab services in 1990 with Tasveer Digital Color Lab. In 2000, it opened a branch in Adajan, Surat. The company later expanded its head office by offering all digital services under one roof. At the same time, Tasveer established Karishma Album & Binding Manufacturing Unit to provide wedding albums, catalogues and different forms of binding services. The company was also India’s first photo lab to start photo album manufacturing, opening up an entirely new industry segment.

In 2007, Tasveer Digital Imaging was founded with expansion into the wide-format segment. This helped the company create jumbo enlargements up to 60-ft, with the ability to print on surfaces like vinyl, backlit film and canvas.

“Over the years, we have continued to invest in modern technology to enhance and develop the business. We service customers from around the world with varying imaging needs. Because of our small beginnings, we have been able to incorporate our attention to detail and premium customer service for all our customers,” Naik said.

The 8500 has been installed by Gurugram-based AVS Graphics Solutions, Xeikon’s channel partner in India for the commercial and photography segment. Delhi-based Flexo Image Graphics (FIG) is the other channel partner for Xeikon in India but represents the labels and packaging segment.
