SWOP concludes on a positive note

The Shanghai World of Packaging (SWOP) 2015, show concluded on 20 November at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC), China. The four-day exhibition was organised by Messe Dusseldorf, Shanghai, Adsale Exhibition Services and the China Center for Food and Drug International Exchange (CCFDIE) with support from Worldwide Packaging and Industrial Associations and Enterprises.

The SWOP show comprised of four exhibitions, the International Packaging Material Production and Processing Exhibition (PacPro Asia), International Food Processing and Packaging Exhibition (FoodPex), International Bulk Packaging Technology and Equipment Exhibition (BulkPex) and the 20 edition of The China International Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Industry Exhibition.
 
The show recorded 22,626 visitors from all over the world and. This year 751 companies marked their presence across 50,000 sq/m area. These included both domestic and international players of the likes of Multivac, Fawema, Hastamat, Kolbus, Aoki, Yizumi, Morimatsu, Shenzhen Beauty Star, Siemens, Horauf, and Fujifilm.
 
Jablonowski, global portfolio director packaging and processing, Messe Dusseldorf, said, “We are pleased to see the response the first edition of SWOP has received. The show was an important aspect of Messe Dusseldorf’s global packaging and processing portfolio with Interpack at its head. SWOP will be an important and international trade show to focus on the top brands and professionals in Asia in the future.”
 
The SWOP provided a single platform for the processing and packaging solutions with comprehensive fields of food and beverage, cosmetics, pharmaceutical and logistics. The mould labelling, tracking system, packaging materials and products, food processing machinery and pharmaceutical processing machinery were exhibited during the show by the companies.
During the show, seminars and conferences were held focusing on current industry trends. The conference facilitated an exchange of ideas on topics such as industry upgrades and enterprise development among others resulting a win-win situation for both visitors and the exhibitors.
 
The FoodPex seminar – Improve safety and reduce food waste - conducted on day two of the exhibition was one of the highlights for the visitors, who had first-hand information and were updated about the latest regulation and production environment on food supervision. The attendees were motivated by the presentation of Dong Ying, R&D associate director of PepsiCo, who spoke about health, nutrition, packaging – new innovation direction of PepsiCo, organised by Packaging Family. 
 
The second edition of SWOP 2017 will be held on 7 November -10 November,2017 at SNIEC in Shanghai.
 
Peter Steindl, managing director, FAWEMA, one of the exhibitors at the show, said, “It is our first exhibition in China and we are there to understand the packaging market and the customers present in China. This goal was achieved at the show.”
