Apart from its participation, Omet has consistently displayed a live demo of its machines at the show, with Labelexpo Asia 2013 witnessing the the XFlex series’ XFlex X2.

The award was presented at the gala dinner of Labelexpo that took place in Jumeirah Hotel in Shanghai and has an audience of around 300 people which included customers and suppliers within the industry.

Marco Calcagni, who took part in the event on behalf of Omet, said, “We were pioneers in China at the end of the 20th century when we opened an office in Shanghai and we believe in the potential of the Chinese market for our business. That’s why we keep investing in Asia and we recently built up a new technology centre exhibiting Omet machines 365 days a year and available for demos and testing.”

Harveer Sahni, managing director at Weldon, said: “Omet’s commitment to Asian markets especially China and India, continues to grow not only because close to 40% of the world’s population resides here but also because the region is home to the largest literate workforce and provides the right target audience for presenting their state of art innovative equipments. Reiterating their commitment, Omet has entered in a tie-up with Weldon Celloplast, to setup a dedicated service centre for the Asian markets.”

The award was particularly appreciated by Omet management as it was received in the year of the company’s 50th anniversary.
