The 10-colour Pelican rotogravure press can print 850-mm wide substrates at the speed of 250-m/min while the nine-colour Bobst M5 narrow-web flexo press can print 530-mm wide printing substrates at the speed of 200-m/min.
According to Chetan Jain, executive director, Taurus Packaging, the company went for the new kits to increase its capacity, and also to increase the quality of its shrink sleeves.
“With new Bobst technology, we can now do shrink sleeves for short runs, where order quantity is not a barrier, without expensive cylinders and fastest time to market,” he said.
Jain said despite the temporary setback of Covid-19, the FMCG market is growing in India, and so is the demand for shrink sleeves. Packaging is an essential product now. He added, “Taurus is positioned as a major shrink sleeve player in India. We are known in industry as the shrink sleeves expert. And due to our quality, excellent response time, turnaround time and innovations, more clients now trust us.”
He added that the company has always focused on innovations and bringing the best of technologies to its clients.
Taurus has recently launched the revolutionary HIP framework, where the concept of minimum quantity no longer exists. Now, clients will get sleeves as per their desired timelines. Clients can choose to opt for short-run sleeves without paying up expensive cylinder costs.
“We are also producing never-seen-before and never-heard-before surface finishes for shrink sleeves which will make clients’ products stand out on shelf. The sleeves will also act as a security feature which cannot be copied,” he added.
Jain said with the addition of the new machines, the company has added around 20% more capacity for shrink sleeves. “We now have the biggest shrink sleeves capacity in India.”
Jain, who considers food, immunity products, dairy, personal care, health and nutrition as growth sectors within FMCG, said that the company will be further expanding and will bring more and more innovations to benefit its clients.
“Taurus is food safety compliant and is approved for various clients and third party social and ethical audits,” he said. “We have a dedicated team and a R&D lab for managing all development work swiftly. We are a family-managed company where the clients get the benefit of a professional, automated operation, and maintain direct connect with all our business associates, reducing the clutter of professional bureaucracy.”
