TCPL sees expansion - and Q1 sales turnover of Rs 52.60 cr

Packaging giant, TCPL Packaging has just completed a massive expansion plan at their Silvassa print unit.

The new investments at Silvassa include a 10-colour ATN gravure press, a Manroland HiPrint 700 six-colour and a single-colour sheetfed gravure press besides finishing equipment.

TCPL, which has been converting 30,000 tons of board each annum, aims to boost their production thanks to the new additions.

TCPL Packaging which has reported a sales turnover of Rs 52.60 crore in the first quarter ended 30 June 2010. Today TCPL is one of the largest manufacturers of folding cartons in India.

The Silvassa unit is accredited with FSC Chain of Custody certification by The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), an ISO 9001:2000 and BRC/IOP-certified packaging company.

TCPL specialises in surface printing on metallised polyester laminated board and plastic substrates. In addition, the company continues to dominate the cigarette packing industry. Last year, TCPL produced more than 2,200 million packs for the tobacco industry.

"Our focus is always customer satisfaction and providing consistent quality products at a reasonable price," said Saket Kanoria, managing director of TCPL Packaging.

Kanoria predicted the company will record at least an additional 25% sales increase over 2009, and he is hoping to increase the range of products.

Today, TCPL is also one of the largest manufacturers of liquor cartons in India with inline UV varnish as well as die-cutting in a single operation. Most of the carton packs are produced by a combination of offset and gravure process.

Kanori stated: "TCPL is one of the preferred suppliers to large FMCG companies and looking at the GDP growth in the country, we are poised to reap the rewards through consistent and stable supplies."
