Saket Kanoria, managing director, TCPL Packaging, said, “Our strong presence across the nation and the world class service that we offer to our customers is well backed by our state-of-art infrastructure. The MK 1060 YM equipment is a compelling value addition to our business model and portfolio.”
The MK 1060 YM can handle large-format die-cutting and foil stamping requirements with longitudinal and transversal foil pull systems. The machine can handle substrates from 90 to 2000 gsm. The machine boasts of an advanced vacuum feed table that can substantially enhance sheet feeding stability, while electronic controls help reduce operator workload and make the feeder unit user-friendlier.
“We hope the MK 1060 YM will meet our performance expectations and Heidelberg has an extensive service network in India which also helps," added Kanoria.
A lower plate in MK 1060 YM is said to improve foiling and embossing makeready times, making the MK1060 YM ideal for repeat jobs. The lower plate is equipped with a central registration system to reduce plate changing, positioning and adjustment times dramatically. The MK pneumatic locking device locks the plate framework automatically without the need for tools, saving time for the operator.
Lalitkumar Lamba, product manager, post press packaging solutions at Heidelberg, said, “The stamping section of the MK 1060 YM comes with a foil advance system consisting of four advanced shafts, which ensures that the foil unwinds with an error tolerance of 1 mm, resulting in foil savings. The foil wind unit is capable of maintaining stable foil tension at high speed. The honeycomb chase is made of special thermal resistant materials. The heated bed consists of 20 heating zones which give accurate heating properties on complicated foil stamping jobs.”
With a turnover topping Rs 600 crores in the current year, TCPL recently ventured into flexible packaging business with a new plant in Silvassa that houses a Bobst Rotomec rotogravure printing machine and Nordmeccanica Super Combi 3000 laminator.
With this investment, the packaging converter is poised to supply cork tipping paper, laminates, sleeves and wrap around labels, as reinforcement to its traditional product lineup of folding cartons, printed blanks and outer, litho lamination, plastic cartons, blister packs and shelf ready packaging.
