TechNova notches ten JWEI cutting table installations

Print runs are falling, and on-demand has become the flavour during the stormy seas of the current market. “Delivering finished products within an hour or so, attracts a premium price, and that’s on the increase,” said Ekta Mhatre, product marketing manager for DOPS at TechNova, while sharing the news of the landmark with PrintWeek.

However, while it’s all good to talk about on-demand print and delivery within a time frame, there are some issues when it comes to production. “Delivering a finished product is not that straightforward,” said Mhatre, adding, “While printing can be done easily, it’s the finishing – cutting, kiss-cutting, creasing, perforation and V-cuts, which is the crux of the matter.”

The conventional die-cutting process uses metal die and its preparation, premakeready and makes ready operations take time. “In case of digital cutting, a cutting file needed to be input in device software to perform all these mentioned operations and due to multi-head assembly, all these operations can be performed in a single pass. That saves time and manpower. Also, processing short-run jobs become very easy. The interchangable nature of the head allows maximum flexibility and versatility,” explained Mhatre.

Four TechNova customers using the JWEI LST03 kit, and have been dealing with the ever-decreasing turnarounds shared their experiences. We are impressed by the versatility to process a variety of applications on a variety of media. These devices are perfect for on-demand diecutting jobs then too in shorter time.”

Mhatre of TechNova said that the devices USP are the ability to finish B2 plus size prints, four tools exchangeable head assembly for operations such as cutting, kisscutting, creasing, perforation and V-cuts, rotating active tool head for sharper cutting, a CCD camera for registration function which can deliver unmatched accuracy, and speed of 1200 mm/s to achieve higher productivity. “These features give the customers in-house abilities, which allows retention increased. We have seen an overall positive impact on business, which has made the kit popular,” said Mhatre, adding, " JWEI has recently introduced roll-to-sheet option for LST and LST03 devices which should be an instant hit for label specific digital set-ups.
