The company earlier was into the pre-media segment and decided to tap the growing variable data printing opportunities in and around Hyderabad.
The C7000VP was installed in the month of October and till now Tegra has produced an over of 60,000 impressions on the machine. “We took some time to understand and acclimatise to the operations of the press. We did a ticket numbering job for a US-based client. But now, we intend to do more general commercial jobs on the machine,” said V Ramnath, director, Tegra Premedia.
On being asked why he opted for the machine, Ramanth says: “We compared a lot of machines available in the market. Apart from the features of the machine and Canon’s after-sales network in Hyderabad, what interested us more was the steadiness of the machine. It’s a very stable machine.”
Tegra’s facility in Banjara Hills is spread over an area of 6000 sq/ft with demarcated area for pre-media, press and post-press operations. The overall cost of the project is around four crore and employs around 18 personnel. The facility also houses a series of lamination machines, UV, spot UV, digital foil stamping, and screen printing equipment.
