The dream project for Balachandra – and indeed many Bengaluru print firms is – Toptec, which is KOPA’s training institute. This multi-storey building will hold a database of all the printers in Karnataka to make the access to information as well as networking easier. Balachandra said: “We have support from TechNova, who have donated a Screen CTP system for training. We hope to source some more support.”
Nagasundar, the president of KOPA lauded the services of A Balachandra, who he said single-handedly created the Toptec centre which now stands as a landmark in the Rajajinagar Industrial area in Bengaluru.
KOPA plans to appoint a technical expert who will host workshops and demos that highlight the best print practices in the country.
Balachandra, who is also at the helm of Rajhans Enterprises, one of the biggest magazine printers in the country, stated, “Good training offers many benefits to your company. It enhances the skills of your employees and increases productivity - thus increasing return on investment. We hope that the Toptec centre will offer a wide and diverse range of training sessions to achieve these goals.”
Balachandra stated the plans include training programs and short-term courses, on-site training, start-up services to ensure a smooth implementation; and to assess whether a recently purchased software and hardware is used to the fullest extent of its capabilities, to familiarise technicians with hardware, as well as maximise the uptime of the equipment.
