The company has shifted its headquarters into a corporate-styled 4000 sq/ft office which is endowed with bright colours and Pantone shades on staircases. Pops of bold hues and eye-catching designs are part of the work area, conference rooms and a cabin which Anil Namugade and Milind Deshpande share with each other.
The pre-press firm specialist which has a unit each in Bengaluru and Delhi added the Surepress "to make life easier for their customers." "Our customers are spread throughout India and most of them are in the FMCG business or are creative agencies," said partner Anil Namugade, who founded the firm in 2008.
"With the Epson press we can offer a wide colour gamut and guarantee accurate colour reproduction. The difference is especially noticeable in the bright green to yellow and yellow orange-red portions of the colour space. We are able to accurately match colours like the Kisan red or reflect blue which make our labels look appealing."
Trigon has grown rapidly since its formation; and today it employs more than 72 people. The company provides a comprehensive 'one-stop shop' service including pre-press, 3-D, virtual stories, short-run labels and create high-quality, ready-to-mould labels. Typical end products are packaging and labels. Most of the client base includes brands as well as direct customers, many of whom are leading names in India.
"We are being asked frequently to provide mock-ups and help with test marketing new packaging. In addition, we are experiencing a greater demand for shorter print runs, often down to around 1000. Investing in narrow web flexo press weren't economical for these orders. The Surepress, already in operation on a full shift basis, enables us to meet these requirements effectively and provide a better service to our customers," said Milind Deshpande.
Vasudevan LK of Epson said, "Our MicroPiezo ink jet technology with variable-size droplets as small as three picolitres provides ultra-precise drop formation and placement to deliver smooth gradations, remarkable colour quality and sharp detail for easy bar code readability, plus crisp small type and line work." The press at Trigon can produce seven colours including white. The press supports rolls from 80 to 330.2 mm (3.15 to 13 inches) wide with several converting options for their labels.
The partners at Trigon inform PrintWeek India that the firm will be installing a single colour flexo press from RK Labels plus a finishing unit, which allows spot UV, embossing and foil stamping.
"The Surepress in the new set-up has proved to be the ideal sales and marketing tool," said Namugade. "Orders from our existing customers are printed digitally as these involve shorter runs. Consequently, we have eliminated the waste and time lag. Today, the market is demanding a level of production flexibility and the Surepress permits us to print on a range of standard, off-the-shelf materials including gloss, semi-gloss, matte, film and clear and metallic substrates."
Namugade concluded, "Understanding the customer's requirement thoroughly is the key to produce a good job. Likewise, understanding the printing process and the substrates well before you start processing any job is important. A client comes with different requirements for printing. In instances where we are unable to cater to them, we connect them to our network of suppliers and vendors. Enhancing the creativity of the design are some of the value propositions we serve on the customers plate."
The Epson SurePress L-4033AW was purchased from Arrow Digital.
