The machine is an upgraded version of Uchida’s Aerocut and comes with a “2.5 times faster processing speed” than its predecessor.

“All jobs; cutting, creasing and perforating can be operated through a five inch touch panel,” said Tony Hills, director of UMG UK, the official partner for Uchida in UK and Ireland.

It features Aerocut plug-in for Adobe Illustrator which creates the required size templates according to job specifications right before the artwork is placed on to the template. This data can be automatically transferred to the Aerocut Quatro machine through a USB cable connection.

The basic functions include slitting, cross cutting, creasing and micro perforating along with an optional cross perforation. The feeding system has an upper belt suction feed and cut mark register to align cutting of the sheets up to size 556mm x 999mm and up to 400gsm.

To bring about the automation, Arocut Quatro comprises of six rotary slitting knives, cross cut knife, matrix creasing with adjustable depth, perforation unit with twin wheels, registration mark reader to eliminate print wandering and a memory for 80 jobs.

“Our key goal is to make the digital print look better and make it easier for the printers,” added Hills.
Uchida stand has put on display a raft of machines for a good number of finishing options in digital. It’s a must see, if you are looking at hassle-free finishing in digital.
