Ruby Macons, subsidiary of USA-based MeadWest Vaco is one of the leading producers of test liners and fluting (container boards) in India with production in excess of 150,000 tons annually. Its complete product range, made from recycled fibres, covers almost the full need of the corrugated packaging industry in India.

Ruby Macons has been contributing significantly to paper recycling in India with the use of recycled paper for the manufacturing of full range of recycled liners and flutings. The liners and flutings are produced by two mills located in the industrial estate of Vapi.

Ruby Macon houses four machines, two of which are dedicated for test liner production, one for core board production and one for fluting.

Hitesh Pandya, director, Technokraft said, “We have been associated with Ruby Macons for the past 20 years and have now established a strong customer base across the country.” “We work with MNC’s, corporate houses, and leading corrugated packaging converters across India to help re-engineer box designs with our high performing test liner and fluting materials,” stated Pandya.

Pandya is pretty optimistic about the growth of the corrugation industry in India. According to him, “the corrugators are making a move from semi-automatic machines to automatic machines.” This has led to a quantity consolidation with their capacity now able to produce more and a there is a sudden demand surge for kraft papers,” said Pandya.

“Technokraft has been growing year on year at a 10% margin and is slated to increase further,” he added.
