Anjani Singh, director, Kamala Printing Press, said, “We were looking for a sturdy machine for back-to-back printing, and short-run commercial and packaging jobs. We found the Canon ImagePress C9010 VP to be suitable for our requirements. The machine offers heavy-duty performance, high reliability and had the closest results to offset quality that we desired."
The machine can print upto 90-ppm of a variety of printable media from 60- to 400-gsm.
Kamala Printing Press started the digital printing venture from 2012, along with its offset printing facility.
In the recent past, the company has also installed a pre-owned four-colour Heidelberg CD 102 printing press. Today, it has three Heidelberg printing presses in the offset segment. In the pre-press segment, the company has installed a ThermoStar T9 CTP.
“Last year, we also shifted to a new facility in a 4,400-sqft constructed area in Chandpur Industrial Area,” Singh said.
The company prints jobs for commercial and packaging customers through both digital and offset. For digital, the company has a separate entity, called Kamala Print Works.
“Our turnover was Rs 7.25-crore in 2021-22. With the new Canon ImagePress C9010VP on our premises, we are expecting 15% growth in our business, as nowadays there is a sudden increase in short run jobs,” he added.
Since most businesses located in Varanasi and the surrounding area are small-scale, Singh said, digital plays a major role even in packaging printing.
Puneet Datta, senior director, Canon India, said, “Kamala Printing Press is a known, trusted, and renowned printing solution provider in the region. We are pleased that the company has shown faith in technologically superior Canon ImagePress C9010VP for its short-run commercial and packaging print needs. We are confident that with this production printer, Kamala will be able to grow its business in line with its vision.”
A team of 50 people works for Kamala in a 12-hour shift.
