A new venture, MM Polytech, showcases packaging prowess

Chennai-based Mohan Mutha Polytech, which is the first manufacturing arm of Mohan Mutha Exports, is a flexible packaging converter. Exhibiting at the India pavilion at Interpack, the company highlighted its specialisation in laminates in forms of rolls and pouches.

The six-month old company is focusing on the export market with specialised and niche products such as stand-up pouches, spouted pouches and liddings among others.

Kunal Mutha, chief executive officer, MM Polytech, said, “Being new in the market, we need to be more aggressive in promoting our products. This is the reason why we are at Interpack. In last four months we have achieved full production.”

With a capacity to convert 350 tonnes of laminate in a month, MM Polytech boasts of a single line operation including printing, lamination, slitting and pouching machines. The set-up includes eight-colour Rotomec 888 gravure printing machine, Nordmeccanica Super Combi 3000 lamination machine, a slitter rewinder from Titan and a defect detection system from AVT.

With its growing customer base, the company currently caters to 45 customers.
