Two years in the digital printing segment and Gandhi already swears by the growth in the segment. "Our branching out in the digital printing space has paid well. Within six months, given the volumes we have, we felt the need to invest in our second equipment."

Gandhi caters to about 500 customers, mostly as a jobber, from his two units in Pune and Ahmednagar. He said, "At both the centers, we do have walk-in customers but that constitues about two to five percentage of our business. Adhering to long standing relations built in our 25 years in the industry as paper dealers, we have been able to get orders to feed the machines."

The Ricohs have replaced the Xerox 5000s at the units, which according to Gandhi, has allowed them to use a wider range of substrates. A Ctrl P churns out 40,000-45,000 A4 prints each month.
