Viani Printings install Kerala's first Grafcut cutting machine from Proteck

Viani Printings, an initiative of archdiocese of Ernakulam-angamaly recently completed the installation of first Grafcut G53 paper cutting machine in Kerala for their digital printing division.

“With a steady increase in jobs for our digital printing division, we wanted a post press equipment which can ably assist us and we chose the Grafcut G53,” said Rev. Fr. Francis Arickal, managing director of Viani printings.

Grafcut cutting machines have several unique features including high levels of accuracy of 0-1 mm and can be operated with a maximum stack thickness of 60 mm. The machine also has the photocell curtain protection and has a user-friendly programmable touch screen with 100 jobs memory.

“Our operations include a wide range of machines from sheet fed to several offset machines and then our recent extension to the digital segment with Xerox machines and a canvas printer from Canon,” added Fr. Arickal.

Started in 1966, Viani Printings also runs the Viani Institute of Advanced Printing technology which current offers certification in printing technology.

“We are in the process of offering diploma and bachelor course in printing technology also very soon in our institute,” said Fr. Arickal

Poland-based Grafcut is represented by Proteck machinery in India since 2012 and have a total of four installations of the cutting machine.
