Vibes Academy conducted a day-long seminar on utility management at their centre in Chennai on 20 May 2015. The seminar was attended by a wide spectrum of players from the printing and publishing industry.
Titled ‘Red to Green’, the seminar laid emphasis on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Dr B Kumar, professor, Anna University, spoke about the red energy, wherein he dealt with the methods by which the power and water consumption during production by press can be reduced to a minimum.
Also, Dr Karmegam, former director, Centre for Water Resources, shared insights about the potential of water in India and explained various techniques of water conservation.
Advocating the concept of white energy, Christodas Gandhi explained opportunities in wind and solar power generation and emphasised on biomass, biogas and particularly power generated from sea wind. Speaking about green trends, M Murali, chief architect, Murali Architects, informed that building should also be designed as to save power.
V Murali, director, Vibes Academy, said, “The seminar was aimed at emphasising the industry’s moral responsibility towards people and the planet in equal measure with their focus on profits. Due to the overwhelming response from the industry we plan to have a series of such unique seminars in the time to come,” added Murali.
Delegates from Dinamalar, Ananda Vikatan, The Times of India, Manorama, Vijay Karnataka among others participated in the seminar. The event was sponsored by Pressline India (Delhi) and Technova Imaging (Mumbai).
