Explaining the reason behind the new setup, Prashantha Kumar of Vijaya Grafiks said that owing to the pandemic, many books and commercial printers are diversifying into packaging and they need post-press equipment. This has added to the market demand.
“By adding the new plant in Greater Noida, we have doubled our manufacturing capacity,” Kumar said. Earlier, we used to manufacture two machines per month in our Delhi plant, but now we can easily manufacture four machines per month at the new facility.”
The 7,000-sqft plant is equipped to manufacture six machines per month. “We are waiting for the CNC machine. After it arrives, we will be able to manufacture accurate and advanced folder-gluers,” Kumar added.
With the new plant, the company has shifted its complete manufacturing from Delhi to Greater Noida. Now, Vijaya has two manufacturing units, one in Greater Noida and the other in Bengaluru, under Advance Carton Technologies (ACT), which is a sister concern.
At the new facility, the company manufactures crash lock-bottom machines, window-patching and liner carton attachments, online braille embossing system for folder-gluers, and carton strippers, among others.
The company is also working to launch a burger packaging box manufacturing machine. Kumar said details will be shared with the market soon.
Vijaya has already shipped its first machine from the plant to Magic International, located in the same vicinity.
“With the new plant, we are expecting 100% growth in our business,” Kumar said.
Vijaya have installed more than 600 machines in India and abroad.
