Virtual.Drupa 2021: Fujifilm pushes Superia ZX plate, Jet Press 750S
At the Virtual.Drupa 2021, Fujifilm is highlighting two new products, a new processless thermal CTP plate, Superia ZX, which is set to offer significant improvements in printability (faster output, higher durability and improved robust scratch resistant, etc) thanks to the development of next-gen technologies, and a new model of Jet Press 750S, which is already well established due to its ultra-high quality, colour stability and performance.

The Superia ZX will be launched before summer and Jet Press 750S high-speed model will be done in autumn.
Tsuyoshi Yoshioka, manager, POD business group, graphic systems business division, Fujifilm, said the company’s broader product portfolio, from conventional to digital, including these two products, should help its customers improve their production methods.
On the impact of the pandemic, Yoshioka said the company’s customers are claiming 30-40% drop in business in 2020 but are recovering gradually. “They, and we also, are expecting the real recovery in 2021, but the current situation seems not quite easy. It depends on the application and market segment, though,” he said.
He added that the pandemic will change workstyle drastically, and more and more jobs will be managed via online without involving manpower for the majority of applications. “Fujifilm and Fujifilm Business Innovation together will provide a broader range of products on this, especially after 1 July when the Graphic Communication Division will be established,” Tsuyoshi said.
He said the company has received queries from its customers as to what will be the fast recovery application post-pandemic, and what areas of applications will be next generation’s growing business. “It seems, customers would like to foresee what is coming and prepare for their investment, as well as securing resources to match their future applications. Using Fujifilm’s global network, we provide information and customer case studies to offer relevant and useful information to prepare for the future to come. We stand alongside our customers, showing we are their partners to grow their business,” he said.
He added that smart factories for lean production, with digitisation and digital transformation should bring enormous benefit for the total value chain. “Again, we would like to be a long-term partner for the customer’s success from this perspective,” he said.
