US-based Martin Automatic has announced that its stand at the Labelexpo Europe 2013 in Brussels saw visitors from 39 countries and among them, India ranked third in number of visitors. The company did not want to name the buyer, but disclosed that it signed a contract for two machines from an Indian visitor.

Hope Hu, regional manager for Asia Pacific at Martin Automatic, said, “Visitors always appreciate seeing our butt splicer and transfer rewinder in action we even encourage them to participate in the demonstrations and they can see how we’ve designed our equipment to be easy to use, simple to understand and easy to maintain. We graded this show the best in recent years, with a 20% increase over the previous show in the number of serious inquiries.”
At the show, Martin exhibited the latest versions of our popular MBS unwind/splicer and LRD rewinder. The compact MBS comes with new standard features that include ultrasonic sidelay sensors and spiral grooved rollers for handling film, paper, pressure-sensitive label stock, paperboard, tube laminates, and filter media. He said, “It now has a touchscreen operator panel with expanded diagnostics that matches that of the LRD rewinder, with which it is often paired.”
Hu has high expectation from the Indian label market. According to him, in recent years, the value of Martin non-stop technology is starting to be recognised by important players in India. Gopsons Papers is one of them which has installed a Martin Automatic kit. “We believe our success in those companies will help others to understand the benefits in terms of productivity improvement, reduced waste and downtime, and increased profitability that Martin non-stop solutions offer,” said Hu.
