“Designed for single width, single folder newspaper applications, the MultCam Trim system offers a streamlined set of features for simplified operation, reliably delivering perfect register for high quality print at a low cost,” said Hemant Desai of QuadTech, adding, “We are also featuring our performance-proven technology in register guidance and ribbon control with multicam (the world’s best-selling register camera with over 15,000 cameras built); Colour Control with AccuCam; Digital Ink System, which replaces conventional ink fountains with computer-controlled ink injectors; and our Data Central reporting.”

Desai said, for QuadTech, all newspaper printers visiting Wan-Ifra are important. “We believe that leading newspaper printers will benefit greatly from our newest colour and register control technology. Visitors from the neighbouring countries are also our target. Wan-Ifra provides a valuable networking opportunity. In just three days’ time, we can meet with more people than we could in six months of travelling,” he said.

Desai said the company has recently seen some important movement and investment plans from regional newspapers. “We also observe that all leading national and regional newspapers are consolidating their print capacity, and restructuring, by moving efficient presses or parts of presses/towers to remote and small facilities, and adding new presses/ towers at main cities or their leading plants and head offices. Such scenarios and developments will generate requirements for quality-maintaining and waste-saving solutions like ours,” he added.

Besides showing the industry what the company has to offer, it is very important to QuadTech’s development efforts to speak directly, and often, to its customers and all newspaper printers, Desai said. “We do not develop solutions cloistered inside our colour laboratory! Listening to the industry — at shows such as Wan-Ifra — and visiting their operations is an essential step to understanding their processes, needs, and challenges,” he added.

Desai said the Wan-Ifra Conference gives the company an excellent platform to show the industry how it can simplify print performance and bolster its customers’ bottom lines. “After investing heavily in new technology innovations, the show gives us a chance to meet with our markets directly, and show them the fruits of our labour,” he added.
