Headed by Amar Chhajed, Webtech is a division of Huhtamaki PPL. With its headquarters in Mumbai and having plants in all geographical zones in India, Huhtamaki is a global specialist in packaging for food and drink with a network of 74 manufacturing units and additional 24 sales only offices in 34 countries. With approximately 17,000 employees, in 2016, Huhtamaki’s net sales totaled euro 2.9 billion.
“With regards to the new Omet iFlex at our plant in Sikkim, I can confirm that we are satisfied with the overall installation and support provided by Omet and Weldon team in India,” Chhajed said, “We are looking forward to running the machine at its optimum capacity. I am sure it will live up fully to the confidence and trust we have placed in it.”
The label press is easy to use and quick at setup. Other innovative features, aiming at simplifying a printer’s work, include laser-assisted pre-register and register setting devices that speed up the machine setup and rebooting after job change. The machine has the shortest web path in narrow web printing for incredible savings in the start-up phase. It is also the only machine to have all the impression rollers direct drive with obvious benefits on the print quality and in waste savings.
The machine handles a wide range of sizes, from 5.5 to 18-inches for small spending in printing plate production.
The sale was handled by Omet’s exclusive agent in India, New Delhi-based Weldon Celloplast. Pawandeep Sahni, director Weldon Celloplast, said, “Webtech is a prestigious customer. A lot of evaluation has gone into selection of the iFlex. It is only when they were convinced that the equipment is value for money that they acquired the machine.”
