Welbound notches 60 installations in Meerut
Meerut has seen more than 60 installations of Welbound machines across segments: publishers, printers and binders. “Even pre-owned WB2000 is in a huge demand in this market” says Tarun Patel, the Welbound team member who heads the sales and service centre in Meerut. He feels that the reliability of the machines backed by availability of just in time service and spares is the reason behind this popularity.

The increased demand of children's books from publishers in Meerut has seen sheeted print units enter the book print segment. Veer Print O Graph has close to ten multi-colour sheetfed machines, supported by a number of folding machines and three WB2000 binders. New King Offset and Dayal Offset also belong to a list of printers who have extended their bindery services. Shakeel Book Bis is among the few book binders who installed the six-clamp binder from Welbound.
Whether it is in Kota or Kolkata, students aspiring to join India’s premier institutes for engineering will be definitely referring to textbooks and resources from Arihant. Meerut in UP, well-known as the Hindi pulp fiction capital of the country, also houses this educational publishers whose books are vouched by successful candidates in competitive exams.
Their journey began in 1997 when a set of books published for IIT JEE turned were found useful by coaching classes and students. Founded by Yogesh Jain and managed by the family, this educational publisher has emerged a market leader in key segments. The content development is managed by a team of a hundred qualified professionals; Arihant has a Pan-India network of sixteen branches and over 5,000 retailers. No wonder that the group has been more than doubling the sales every year.
In addition to outsourcing their jobs to leading book printers in Delhi and Mumbai, Arihant has established a book production unit in Meerut with a raft of coldset web offsets and sheet-feds. Three WB2000 six-clamp binders form the core of their bindery that churns out millions of books every year. Parvesh Jain, director at Arihant group says: “Once we graduated to the Welbound binders, there has been no looking back. Our bindery runs at double capacity utilisation and there is no scope for machine downtimes. WB2000 is a workhorse and we can bank on them for delivering our requirement”
Meerut which is 70 kilometers north-east of New Delhi boasts of more than 60 Welbound installations, to date.
