Weldon and Omet conduct open house at Pragati Pack
Weldon Celloplast, the Indian representative of Omet and Omet flexo presses conducted an open house event at Pragati Pack in Hyderabad to show the live demonstration of Omet Varyflex F1 narrow flexo press.

Harveer Shani, managing director, Weldon Celloplast, said, “Pragati has always been in the forefront for indulging in new technologies. They have taken a historical step of opting to install an Omet Varyflex, the in-line folding carton press.”
The Varyflex is equipped with the facility for rotogravure, cold foil and a silk screen cassette in every position of the press. These are the added values features which go along the high quality of the flexo UV printing and in-line converting press.
Hemant Paruchuri, director at Pragati Pack, said, “The Varyflex has features which are ideal for printers with short runs but repetitive in nature.”
Paruchuri added, “The flexo press is capable of printing wide range of substrates from 12 micron to 600 micron. The press has generated opportunities in the carton business. The machine is versatile and we can target numerous avenues.”
The first half witnessed presentations from Esko, Dupont and Omet which were attended by more than 100 print firms along with live demonstration of the Varyflex in latter half of the full day event.
The speakers at the event were Ganapathy Thillai of Esko, Gururaj Kirsur of DuPont and Paulo Grasso of Omet.
Ganapathy spoke about how high definition (HD) flexography technology can match the quality of offset and gravure printing technology. Whereas Gururaj mentioned the trends in flexography printing, lesser wastage and shorter makeready. He also explained the concept of flat-top-dots in HD flexo.Paulo pointed the advantages of complex jobs and shorter runs on an Omet Varyflex machine. He emphasised on the concept of getting lean and thus saving on costs.
The open house event organised by Weldon Celloplast was sponsored by Esko, Dupont, Martin Automatic and Veepee Graphic Solutions. The list of consumables sponsors were Kurz for foiling, ITC Paper and Board for paper and Siegwerk for inks.
