As in the last year, this year’s surprise package for this category is the winner: Excel Sign Graphics. The company’s creation of Lipton Shop for Hindustan Lever; Pond’s Glass for Naman In-store; Window display for Virchand showroom and wall paper for Ajit Patel had the judges commend about the excellent quality of wide-format print of graphics.

The company used HP’s 8ft latex machine to print on Maxflex outdoor white vinyl of 100 micron and Grafica’s screen printing machine to print on glass. It made effective use of white opaque and mirror ink to get the mirror effect. According to Excel, “The Pond’s glass job needed to have very sharp edges, hence the use of mirror and white opaque inks.”

Excel Sign Solutions is the youngest member of the parent Excel Process company, a 60 year old company, which specialises in metal printing. Excel Group has manufacturing facilities at Killa Pardi, Valsad and Bengaluru. The plant which is located at Killa Pardi, is in an area measuring more than 10,500 sq/metres. Excel Sign Solutions is equipped with wide-format machines and automatic screen printing machines.
