This is another category which saw a tie. Jayna Packaging and Spectrum Scan sharing the honours.
Jayna Packaging sent in four entries – Kinder Joy Arch display, Old Spice standing unit, Oral B island display and Rubber Band floor standing unit. All the entries were made from 100% recyclable heavy duty corrugated board with five-colour printing.
Explaining the Kinder Joy Arch, Jayna states that the client wanted to make an island display which would carry a stock of around 50kgs and be sturdy enough. The other criteria was that it can be shipped flat and can be assembled in couple of minutes with absolute ease, which was achieved.
The Oral B Island was designed in a way that each of its shelves can take a weight of 5-7kgs easily. “The look of the display is enhanced with 3D Oral B Paste, made from corrugated board, pasted on each of the four sides of the display unit. Again, the display can be shipped flat and its structure design is such that it can be assembled in a couple of minutes and with absolute ease,” states Jayna.
Spectrum Scan sent its big entry Castle Lager thermoform bottle along with three other entries namely Nokia Programmed LED display, and two Babylip FSUs for Garnier.
Castle Lager is an high-impact point of sale item. The back-lit, print and formed product has the ability to display the product along with dispensing arrangement. The Babylip FSUs has been printed on self-adhesive vinyl using HP latex 65500 six-colour wide-format digital press and mounted on the fabricated FSU with sunboard. The POP for Nokia is printed on the Atma screen printing machine, which has been thermoformed for shape and fabricated to form the display with programmed LED lighting.
According to Spectrum, POP has become more sophisticated than ever. “We are pushing the boundaries hard in terms of innovation, use of material and technology in our endeavour to produce products that help our clients meet their targets,” says Amit Shah of Spectrum Scan.
It’s a fact that in their constant battle to attract attention on the retail floorspace, a brand needs innovative point-of-purchase material that allows it to stamp their mark on in-store display. POPs can be small or big, but the key to getting it right is by ensuring one follows it through its store experience. “These entries fit the bill besides having the desired impact,” stated the jury.
