President Raveendra Joshi said, “I am honoured and excited to lead WPCF. My commitment is to foster collaboration, innovation, and global growth within our professional community.”
Raveendra Joshi is a veteran in the print industry since 1980. He co-founded United Multicolor Printers in 1999 in Pune. He was instrumental in his company winning the National Award for Excellence in Print from 2017 to 2020.
Joshi played a pivotal role in transforming The Poona Press Owners Association, where he served for 20 years. Under his leadership, the association conceptualises projects like the Printers Shopping Mall and Print Museum.
Joshi takes over from Prof Kamal Chopra, a fellow Indian who was re-elected as the chairman of the World Print & Communication Forum (WPCF) in a special first for India. Chopra began his first tenure on 8 December 2020 when he took over the reins from the past chairman, Michael Makin (USA).
When Prof Chopra was re-elected chairman of WPCF, he expressed pleasant surprise. “I was sure to relinquish but became excited when representatives of all the countries present unanimously suggested working for another term.”
However, as Prof Chopra informed, once he was back home after the re-election at the WPCF’s Bangkok meeting, the All India Federation of Master Printers (AIFMP), in its annual general meeting held on 30 September 2023, decided to discontinue as a member of WPCF. “Though this decision was not conveyed to the WPCF, I decided to leave WPCF as the chairman as my conscience did not allow me to continue as the chairman of WPCF if AIFMP was leaving WPCF.”
While wishing the new chairman, Joshi, the best, Prof Chopra said, “I want to see WPCF flourishing and shining like the bright star it is; therefore, I am always available, in my personal capacity, for any support and guidance.”
