Xeikon seeking India foothold with direct presence
Belgium-based digital print equipment manufacturer Xeikon is set to build a strong market presence in the Indian market through its parent company Flint Group. Xeikon’s direct market approach move is aimed at taking advantage of a market that it says, “is looking to invest in high quality and high performance digital printing systems”.

Bent Serritslev, managing director Xeikon Asia Pacific, said, “Previously, we selectively addressed the market through sales partners but customers in India are increasingly looking for unique and special applications to differentiate their business - building on the experience of the manufacturer rather than sales partners.”
He added, “At the same time, the investment in digital printing systems are driven by growth in shorter run production, brand security and variable content demanding direct relationship with the manufacturer.”
The change in India involves strengthening of both the sales and customer service team to professionally address customer requirements in the label, folding cartons and commercial printing segments of the Indian market.
At the Labelexpo India 2016, Xeikon announced two deals, where New Delhi’s Kwality Offset Printers invested in a Xeikon 3030Plus while Noida-based Zircon Technologies ordered two Xeikon 3500 digital presses.
Serritslev said, “Xeikon’s technology, both for simplex and duplex printing, provides printers and converters with a large selection of applications which is hard to find from any other single supplier.”
In the commercial printing space, Xeikon addresses the B2 plus format, which it claimed has the ability to print unlimited length of image and with product suites for the wall decoration, books and magazines markets as well as for the textile and pharmaceutical inserts.
Xeikon’s portfolio for labels include FDA compliant toner for direct dry food contact without barrier coating, very high light fastness, special brand security features, full rotary printing and all charges based on actual consumption rather than click charges.
Flexo Image Graphics and AVS Graphic Solutions represented Xeikon till the latest move. “Xeikon would like to thank the two partners for their supportive service and for ensuring a smooth transition for our customers,” concluded Serritslev.
