Established in 1967, Okay Paper Products offers full spectrum of printing and packaging services. The Vasai-based company has a four-storey building with printing and post-press capabilities. The firm manufactures mono cartons, corrugated multi-colour printed cartons, labels, etc type of packaging material.

THE VERDICT
For the firm which operates with the concept of 0% rejection and 100% perfection line, the investment in Novacut was because of its speed and accuracy. The firm invested in the machine in 2015 to upgrade it’s post-press and currently converts around 7,500 sheets/hour. According to Kapil Roongta of Okay Paper, “The machine synchronises with the offset output to folder-gluer speed and hence throughput is achieved.” Features such as embossing, brailing and quality die-cut were the deal clincher for Okay Paper Products. Roongta adds, “Bobst being the market leaders in the segment and with its strong after sales service team is one of the reasons to opt for Bobst.”

Established in 2001, Indore-based Shiv Offset caters to the pharma, food and other industries for its packaging requirements. The firm is equipped with pre-press, press and post-press facilities under one roof. Along with the domestic market in Madhya Pradesh, the firm also caters across India and directly export to 11 countries.  
 
THE VERDICT
The first Novacut 106 was installed in 2012, while the second Novacut 106 with stripper was installed in April, 2015.  The firm churns out around 22-lakh cartons per day and has opted for Bobst for its accuracy, maintenance, and the brand. Jiten Shadija, director, Shiv Offset says, “The machine has improved our productivity and quality. Though Bobst machines are expensive, the volumes we do and better margins because of the quality, has helped us recover the investment in good time and become profitable.”

DJS Printers, Gurgaon
Gurgaon-based DJS Printers, sister concern company of Delhi-based Sangat Printers, ventured into the package printing in early 2010. The firm focuses on the export market for packaged food and beverages. The firm caters to the Europe, Africa and Middle East.

THE VERDICT
DJS invested in a brand new Bobst Novacut 106 die-cutter with an aim to get a high quality output, with increased speed. The firm currently operates the machine at 7,500 sheets per hour for mono cartons and at 6,500 sheets per hour for corrugated boards. Sanjay Jain of DJS Printers, says, “Our lead time has improved plus the labour cost has come down, due to the online stripping feature.”

Miraj Multicolor, Udaipur
Miraj Multicolour was established under the aegis of the Miraj Group in 2001. The group, which boasts of a strong presence in manufacturing, export and supply of quality school, office and other paperbound stationery products, increased its periphery by entering the package printing business in 2010. The firm caters to FMCG, pharma and other segments requiring mono cartons. The company operates from a five-lakh sq/ft manufacturing site in Udaipur, which is manned by a team of over 150 employees.
 
THE VERDICT
For Miraj Multicolor, it was the sturdiness of the machine coupled with the ability to churn out cartons with quality was the deal clincher. Miraj invested in the second Bobst die-cutter in 2015, the first one was in 2013. The second machine was bought in to equip the shopfloor to cater to the increasing business. Currently, on an average the machine processes 1,20,000 sheets per day. According to K G Sharma, director, Miraj Multicolor, “The investment has helped us to improve the productivity and process a lot of different jobs in a short period of time.”
 
The sturdy metallurgy and the ability to withstand the wear and tear of the machine, and quality output, is what tilted our favour towards Bobst
