Yarbal of Belagavi installs dry lamination kit

Belagavi-based Yarbal Print-Pack has installed an MTM dry lamination kit to boost the precision and durability of its print packaging jobs. Suba Solutions installed the kit, which is designed to bond the BOPP, PET, and Met-Pet film with paperboard. This enhances the strength, durability, and aesthetic appeal of packaging products.

Amey Patil, the company's managing director, said, "We aim to take Yarbal's print finishing to the next level."

Patil added that the machine delivers superior adhesion, smooth finishes, and long-lasting protection for Yarbal's packaging jobs. The machine is energy-efficient, so Yarbal's packaging boxes have a premium feel, and production speed has increased significantly.

In addition to the lamination kit, Yarbal has doubled its production capacity by adding one set of auto lamination, folder-gluer, and automatic die-cutter to serve the markets in Karnataka, Goa, and Maharashtra.

The kit, installed in January this year, is suitable for applications like food cartons, pharmaceutical packaging, cosmetic boxes, and other consumer goods packaging. Patil said, "It's ideal for coated stocks and requires a glossy finish. For uncoated stocks, it provides a natural, tactile matt feel."

When asked how it scored on the make-ready front, Patil said, "Compared to similar products, our MTM lamination offers faster make-ready times and greater flexibility in handling various substrates, giving us a competitive edge for glue saving with precision anilox roller technology."

He added, "Its unique selling point is its ability to deliver high-quality dry lamination at increased speeds without compromising precision or finish." The maximum operational speed is 80 metres per minute, with an average running speed of 60 metres per minute, depending on the material, and is designed for 24/7 operations.

Readers of PrintWeek will recall that Yarbal has won PrintWeek's SME Company of the Year in 2023.
