Vetaphone, Denmark was founded by Verner Easby, who invented Corona treatment and established the company in 1951. Corona treatment increases the surface energy of plastic films, foils and paper to improve wettability and adhesion of inks, coatings and adhesives.
Polymer films have chemically inert and non-porous surfaces with low surface tensions, making them non-receptive to bonding with substrates, printing inks, coatings, and adhesives. A quality corona treatment is necessary to ensure the perfect print quality and to obtain a flawless and long-lasting print.
Sanjeev Sondhi, director, Zircon technologies, said, “Vetaphone is the inventor of corona treatment and its name is synonymous with corona treatment. It is Zircon’s resolve to prefer state of art equipment to enhance the quality of our filmic labels.”
Varun Rao of Leo Designs added, “I am happy that KD Sahni from Weldon suggested us to opt for this equipment. Vetaphone are the global leaders in corona treatment. When you aim to be amongst the best, one has to use the best equipment.”
The sale and installation of these Vetaphone corona treaters has been handled by Vetaphone’s exclusive Indian agent Weldon Celloplast. Kanwardeep Sahni, managing director of Weldon, said, “Zircon is India’s leading label company continuously expanding their footprint in the Indian label industry. Leo Design is a fast-expanding company, with indulgence in various segments of the packaging and for them to opt for Vetaphone was a natural exercise opting for universally acclaimed product Vetaphone, that would enhance print quality of their films delivering additional value to their customers.”
