What does the machine do?
It is a paper cutting machine which cuts the paper precisely. It has automated cutting programs with reverse suction air-bed for hands-free operation.

Why did you choose this cutting machine?
It is a reliable and sturdy machine. It has the latest features, particularly the colour touch-screen, the ability to network.

Did you look at any other cutting machine manufacturers?
We compared it with Heidelberg’s Polar 115 and Syepa. The main difference was the cost. With the Champion, we got all the features we wanted at the right price.

Why did you make the purchase?
We had one cutting machine prior to the Champion. We felt the need for one more as there were bottlenecks at the time of production. To boost the production capacity we made the purchase.

What features do you particularly like?
The process feels very safe and is fast, which helps to reduce downtime, this is important in terms of workflow and job completion. It has a single screw ball system which is specially designed from Germany. This allows the machine to give 100 % result.

Is there anything that you dislike?
Nothing.

Is there anything that you wish it had that it doesn’t?
It has everything which we had wished for.

How fast is it?
As fast as it should be and fast enough for our work.
It is not only fast but also very accurate and precise.

How reliable is it?
It is very reliable because of its robust design and  metallurgy.

What’s the quality like?
As expected it is top class. It has a backgauge screw ball which no other machine have. This screw ball helps to cut the paper at a very accurate angle.

How easy is it to use?
It is very easy. We think anyone can use it after a little bit of training. The setting up of programs is a very good feature and the ability to change from one program to another is really useful. The touchscreen is easy to follow and makes it more like using a computer. You recognise what is going on and can set it up easily – not like the old one where there was no display and you had to work everything out. It is a user-friendly machine.

How much time or money has it saved?
It has saved us a lot of time and money because of its ease of use.

Has it won you any new work?
I don’t know, but it has certainly helped when we have been showing customers around. It is impressive to see. It has contributed more in our magazine business.

Would you say that it offers value for money?
Yes, 100%.

Were there any difficulties experienced during the installation or after?
No, not at all.

What about the pre and after-sale service?
We were happy with that. The team of Redlands is very strong in sales and service.

Who do you think the machine is right for?
It is right for printers with large operations and would be happy with its performance.

Under what circumstances would you buy another?
If the work increases so much that we need another machine, then it certainly would be a Champion.
