Jagran Prakashan (JPL) the printer and publisher of Dainik Jagran, Nai Dunia, Nav Dunia, Punjabi Jagran, Inext, Inquilab, City Plus, Sakhi, Mid Day, Gujarati Mid Day and Jagran Josh. Besides printing and publishing of newspapers and magazines.
What does the machine do?
Printing of our newspapers which we publish plus job works for other publications.
What were the reasons to choose the machine?
The machine has a speed which is suitable for our run length, it has ease of operation, automation, brand image, reliability, pricing and less maintenance.
Did you look at any other similar machines?
Yes, we kept a close watch on the industry developments in terms of new technologies in presses but we finally zeroed on the Cityline.
What features do you particularly like?
Auto pasting, change over time, ink water tracking and ballooning are some of the features which I like.
Why did you make the purchase?
Our circulation is increasing and so we wanted a press which was suitable for upgradation, automation and which could cater to increasing run lengths.
Is there anything that you dislike?
Nothing in particular.
How fast is it?
It has a speed of 35,000 copies per hour which meets our requirement of multi-edition printing.
What’s the quality like?
The press is sturdy and has reliable technology demanding less maintenance.
Is there anything that you wish it had that it doesn’t?
Web threading at better price.
How reliable is it?
The press has never stopped since its installation and so we did the printing of different publications.
Has it won you any new work?
We are doing job work for brands like Times of India, Mail Today, The Pioneer, Business Standard, Dinamani and Hindu Bengaluru.
Would you say that it offers value for money?
Definitely it has but more than that, it has helped in creating a brand.
Where there any difficulties experienced during the installation or after?
Minor but it was resolved through joint team efforts.
What about the pre- and after-sales service?
The support is good and enjoying long term relationship
Who do you think the machine is right for?
Anybody having good numbers of print run lengths and having multiple editions.
Under what circumstances would you buy another?
If we get the same features at a better price.
