Describe your company.
Amar Ujala Publications, is a print media organisation in the Hindi newspaper publishing segment. We are a family of around 3,000 employees working in unison to achieve a common goal.
What does the machine do?
We have approximate 35 numbers of presses to print more than 23 lakh broad-sheet newspapers and six lakh tabloid daily.
Why did you choose this particular machine?
We have mostly installed Orient machines with manual to fully automated and shaftless technology. Reason for the selection of the machine is that it has a variety of optional features that can be purchased based on requirements at a reasonable cost. The quality of printing of the machine is good.
Did you look at any other similar machine?
Yes, we did compare the other presses and their technologies before finalising the Orient X-Press.
Why did you make the purchase?
Quality and timely delievery for a newspaper is important and this press does exactly that.
What features do you particularly like?
The machine is robust and breakdown rates are very low.
Is there anything you wish it had that it doesn’t?
Of course every machine has some points to improve. The Orient machine needs some improvement in web control.
How fast is it?
There is variety of options for the speed which ranges from 30,000 to 50,000 copies per hour.
How easy is it to use?
The machine is user friendly with a very low operating cost.
Has it won you any new work?
We have achieved several mile stones in the form of print order quantity and quality of the newspaper using this press.
How much time or money has it saved?
As stated earlier, there is variety of possibilities in the form of speed and automations. So we have the option to save cost and time.
Would you say that it offers value for money?
Yes, it does offer value for money.
Were there any difficulties experienced during the installation or after?
No.
What about the pre- and after-sales service?
The company has a servicing team which is ready to support us at any given point of time.
Who do you think the machine is right for?
It is right for the publications houses who have a print run of more than 50,000 copies.
Under what circumstances would you invest in another?
If we plan to expand and launch new editions then probably we may think of a new press.
