Likewise, printers in India have also tweaked their manufacturing process and procurement of raw material s in order to make their companies and processes greener. And one such company that has showcased the most sustainable and effective innovation will be honoured by PrintWeek India under the Green Printing Company of the Year category.
Noel D’Cunha, managing editor, PrintWeek India, said, “This award will be conferred to the print company that has done most to improve its environmental performance during the period under review. The judges for this category will be specialists and this will be the only category they will judge.”
ITC Packaging and Printing Division (Chennai) clinched the title during the 10th edition of the Awards. “The jury noted the company’s commitment to a low carbon growth path, where a vast majority of the total energy requirement of the company was met from renewable sources,” added D’Cunha.
A look at the ITC report indicated the endeavours to reduce water consumption and augment rainwater harvesting activities both on-site and off-site, as well as minimise waste generation, maximise reuse, and recycling plus deploy external post-consumer waste as raw material in its units.
Brilliant Printers, Coral Print Pack, Lovely Offset Printers, Nutech Packagings, and Vijayshri Packaging were the other companies that came close to clinching the title last year. However, Lovely Offset Printers won the category in 2017.
