The panellists for the session will include Michelle Wilson of WasteAid, Subhas Chandra Mitra of Huhtamaki India, Swati Singh Sambyal of UN-Habitat India and Afsar Ahmed Mohammed of Recykal (Rapidue Technologies). Dinesh Bandella, CEN project manager India, will be the event’s convenor.
The Huhtamaki funded project in India will provide financial support to WasteAid to deliver education and training on waste management and circular systems. The programme is expected to help communities affected by poor waste management by developing alternatives to dumping and burning of household waste, reduce health problems and builds stronger local economies.
It will also enable WasteAid to work with stakeholders in Johannesburg (South Africa), Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) and Guwahati (Assam, India) to fast-track local solutions that create value and reduce waste and pollution.
The initiative aims to connect corporate donors with inspired entrepreneurs to accelerate progress towards reuse and materials recovery.
